Co-founders Scott Goeden and Sergei Dubograev unveil an intelligence layer designed to give organizations greater clarity, better economics and smarter performance across enterprise AI.
NEW YORK, Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — TheTop today announced TheEngine, an intelligence layer that gives organizations immediate visibility into their existing AI usage and begins optimizing it on day one. TheEngine marks the company’s launch and its response to a growing challenge for enterprises: AI adoption is scaling faster than the systems organizations have in place to understand, manage and improve it. Spend climbs, models multiply, and the questions that matter most go unanswered: what it all costs, what it produces and where it can be optimized. The result is a widening disconnect between what companies invest in AI and their ability to see how it performs and improves it. TheEngine bridges that disconnect by unifying visibility and optimization in a single system. Starting today, organizations can apply for early access for the month of October.

TheTop’s founders arrived at the same problem from different directions, and both saw the need for something new. Each has built and sold a successful company, experience that gave them a clear view of what so many organizations are struggling with today. Scott Goeden was Managing Partner of Reference Point, a New York strategy and technology consultancy later acquired by RGP, where he advised global financial services firms on complex technology and transformation challenges. Sergei Dubograev founded and led Clowder, the membership mobile app platform later acquired by Advanced Solutions International, and has spent his career building software companies and the engineering teams behind them. One knew what enterprises need from technology; the other knew how to build it. TheTop is the result.
“The question is no longer whether companies will use more AI. They will,” said Scott Goeden, CEO and Co-Founder of TheTop. “The challenge is that the tools to understand and optimize it haven’t kept pace with adoption. Leaders are making real investments without a clear view of what those investments return. TheTop exists to close that gap: to give organizations a clear line from every dollar spent to what it produced, the means to optimize it, and the confidence to keep investing – all in one place.”
One intelligent layer across enterprise AI
TheEngine connects visibility and optimization across the AI an organization already uses, bringing memory, routing, caching, data classification and operational intelligence into one system. The visibility comes through its Transparency Dashboard: a company’s view into their AI adoption, token utilization, spend and performance across teams, applications, models, providers and requests. Leaders can see where AI is being used and what it costs from a single screen.
Optimization begins with memory. By retaining and reusing relevant organizational context, TheEngine avoids reconstructing information or redoing work the organization already knows. That context then leanly guides routing and caching, so the model starts fewer requests from scratch, and the Engine gets more accurate and more efficient with every request it handles.
The results are measurable. On the industry benchmarks that matter, including the LongMemEval Oracle dataset, a standard test of long-term memory and reasoning, TheEngine meets and exceeds established thresholds for accuracy. And it delivers that accuracy with real efficiency, doing the same work with far less compute.
“Most conversations about AI efficiency start with the model: pick a cheaper one, negotiate a better rate, cut how much you use,” said Sergei Dubograev, COO and Co-Founder of TheTop. “We think the first question is a different one: how much work should the model be doing at all? The system should recognize when a request doesn’t need to start from zero, before it ever reaches a model.”
For the traffic routed via TheEngine, organizations can compare what they actually paid with what the same traffic would have cost without optimization, allowing savings to be measured against their own baseline rather than a generic benchmark.
TheEngine is designed to work across the AI environment an organization already uses, rather than requiring teams to standardize on a single provider or replace existing tools. Depending on the organization’s stack, TheEngine can connect through an MCP connection, a native SDK or a plug-in, with no infrastructure changes required. The Transparency Dashboard can be launched in a few short steps, typically in 5 minutes.
That connectivity is designed with enterprise security and privacy in mind. Oversight does not require access to enterprise conversations. Administrators see usage counts and data classifications rather than underlying content, sensitive data is detected in stream before it reaches a model, and every access is recorded and reviewable.
TheTop has brought experienced enterprise security leadership into that work from the outset. “As an early investor and advisor, I am delighted that TheTop’s team is committed to making TheEngine a solution that meets industry standards and expectations for security, compliance and privacy,” said Shamla Naidoo, former Global CISO at IBM.
Limited October Early Access
This October, TheTop is opening an early-access program for TheEngine to a select number of qualified organizations, including complimentary access to its Transparency Dashboard. Participants will be onboarded on a rolling basis. Organizations can request access at TheTop.com.
