The platform represents one of Inkwater’s two principal commercialization initiatives, alongside its NsideSignal indoor navigation
WA, UNITED STATES, September 3, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — US/Taiwan — Sept. 3, 2026 — Inkwater Holding Inc. (“Inkwater” or the “Company”) today announced that its operating company, Docter Inc. (“Docter”), is advancing an integrated smart aging-care platform designed to support older adults living independently, residents of senior living communities and patients in hospital care environments.
Docter’s platform is intended to support a connected continuum of care extending from an older adult’s home to professionally managed senior residences and hospital rooms. By combining connected devices, monitoring technologies and care-management capabilities, the platform is designed to help families, caregivers, residential operators and healthcare professionals identify potential risks and respond more effectively.
The smart aging-care platform represents one of Inkwater’s two principal technology and commercialization initiatives. In addition to Docter’s connected healthcare and aging-care solutions, Inkwater is developing NsideSignal, its indoor navigation and “Last-Meter Positioning” business, focused on improving location awareness in indoor, vertically complex and GPS-denied environments.
Together, Docter and NsideSignal reflect Inkwater’s broader strategy of applying sensing, connectivity and intelligent data technologies to critical real-world challenges involving healthcare, aging, mobility and physical environments.
“Population aging is creating an urgent need for technology that can support older adults throughout the care journey, rather than addressing only one isolated setting,” said I-fa Chang, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Inkwater Holding Inc. “Through Docter, we are developing practical solutions that connect medical support, senior care, nutrition, residential services and smart-home technologies.”
“Our objective is to help older adults maintain greater independence while providing caregivers and institutions with more timely and actionable information,” Chang continued. “Together with NsideSignal, Docter represents an important part of Inkwater’s strategy to build scalable technology platforms that can be commercialized across multiple industries and real-world environments.”
“Our focus at Docter is to turn technology into practical care solutions that can operate across the places where older adults actually live and receive care,” said Hsin-Ming Huang, Chief Executive Officer of Docter Inc. “An older adult’s needs do not begin and end at the hospital. They extend into the home, the community and senior residential environments. Our platform is therefore being developed to connect smart devices, safety monitoring and care workflows across these different settings.”
“We are initially focusing on clearly defined challenges, including supporting older adults who live alone, integrating medical, caregiving, nutrition and residential services in smart senior housing, and helping hospital care teams manage nighttime bed-exit and fall-risk events among elderly patients,” Huang continued. “These applications provide a practical foundation from which Docter can work with social-service agencies, healthcare institutions, residential operators, home-security providers and telecommunications companies to build scalable aging-care services.”
Supporting Community Programs for Older Adults Living Alone
Docter is preparing an initial product delivery in connection with a social-welfare program involving Taiwan SECOM Co., Ltd., a leading Taiwanese security and smart-living services provider. The program is intended to support community-based services for older adults living alone.
Docter’s solution is designed to assist care providers and service organizations in monitoring relevant safety and wellness conditions and identifying situations that may require follow-up. The technology may help community organizations serve elderly individuals who live independently and may not have a caregiver physically present throughout the day.
Potential customers and implementation partners for this type of solution include:
Municipal and regional social-service agencies;
Security and emergency-response service providers;
Home-care and senior-care operators;
Hospitals and healthcare systems;
Insurance companies; and
Nonprofit organizations serving aging populations.
The initial delivery is expected to provide Docter with an opportunity to further evaluate its platform in a community-based elderly-care environment and support future commercialization efforts.
Enabling Integrated Smart Senior Residences
Docter is also developing solutions for subscription-based and monthly rental senior housing. Its smart-residence concept is designed to integrate connected home appliances with medical, caregiving, nutrition and residential services through a unified system.
Under this model, older residents could receive access to smart-home technologies, wellness monitoring and coordinated living services as part of their monthly residential arrangement. The objective is to enable senior housing operators to provide a safer and more coordinated living environment while allowing residents to maintain an appropriate degree of independence.
The platform is being designed to integrate four essential components of senior living:
Medical support: Connecting residents with healthcare resources and relevant wellness information;
Senior care: Supporting caregivers, safety monitoring and daily-living assistance;
Nutrition: Coordinating meal, dietary and food-service requirements; and
Residential services: Integrating smart appliances, building systems and property-management services.
Potential customers include senior apartment operators, assisted-living providers, continuing-care retirement communities, real estate developers, property-management companies and healthcare or insurance organizations developing aging-in-place services.
This integrated model may also create opportunities for recurring revenue through monthly platform subscriptions, monitoring services, residential service packages and long-term technology partnerships.
Developing Smart-Ward Applications for Hospitals
In hospital environments, Docter is developing smart-ward applications for geriatric and other high-risk inpatient populations.
One important use case involves patients who leave their beds during the night and may face an elevated risk of falling while walking to or returning from a restroom. Extended hospitalization, physical weakness, medication effects, unfamiliar surroundings and nighttime movement may further increase this risk among elderly patients.
Docter’s proposed smart-ward system is designed to help care teams identify relevant patient movement and potential fall-risk events, enabling more timely intervention and improved ward-management workflows. The system may also help nursing personnel prioritize attention across multiple rooms and patients.
Potential smart-ward functions may include:
Bed-exit and bed-return status awareness;
Identification of movement patterns associated with elevated fall risk;
Alerts supporting more timely caregiver intervention;
Event and care-workflow documentation; and
Integration with other hospital or ward-management systems.
Docter’s smart-ward solutions are intended to support, rather than replace, the professional judgment of physicians, nurses and other healthcare personnel.
The Company is evaluating opportunities to introduce these capabilities through hospital pilot programs and institutional collaborations. Additional information regarding specific medical institutions or projects will be disclosed only after receiving the necessary authorization from the relevant institutions.
Building a Connected Aging-Care Ecosystem
Inkwater believes Docter’s core technology architecture can be adapted across multiple aging-care environments, including:
Community programs for older adults living alone;
Home-based aging-in-place services;
Monthly rental smart senior residences;
Assisted-living and long-term-care facilities;
Geriatric hospital wards;
Rehabilitation and post-acute care centers; and
Integrated medical, nutrition, caregiving and residential-service platforms.
Rather than treating these environments as separate markets, Docter’s longer-term objective is to help create a connected smart-care ecosystem capable of supporting older adults as their residential, medical and caregiving requirements evolve.
This approach may provide opportunities to serve government agencies, healthcare institutions, residential operators, home-security companies, property developers, telecommunications providers, insurers, care organizations and families through a combination of product sales, system integration, platform services and recurring subscription relationships.
U.S. Commercialization Opportunities
In the United States, Docter believes its smart aging-care technology may be relevant to nationwide home-security, telecommunications, connected-home and professional-monitoring providers seeking to expand their services for older adults and their families.
Potential strategic customers, distribution partners and technology-integration partners may include companies operating in markets served by ADT, AT&T, T-Mobile and other major U.S. providers with established consumer relationships, connected-home platforms, nationwide communications infrastructure or professional monitoring capabilities.
Under a potential integrated service model:
Docter could provide smart aging-care devices, monitoring technology and platform capabilities;
Home-security providers could provide professional monitoring, emergency-response coordination and in-home service networks;
Telecommunications companies could provide home connectivity, nationwide customer distribution and recurring billing capabilities; and
Healthcare, insurance and senior-care organizations could provide clinical, care-management and wellness services.
This type of integration could enable participating providers to expand beyond conventional home-security and connectivity services by offering aging-in-place, caregiver-support and wellness-related capabilities through recurring monthly service plans.
The Company has identified ADT, AT&T and T-Mobile as examples of leading companies participating in relevant U.S. home-security, telecommunications or connected-home markets. Inkwater and Docter have not announced commercial agreements, partnerships or active projects with these companies, and there can be no assurance that any such relationship will be established.
A Recurring-Service Business Model
Docter’s commercialization strategy is intended to extend beyond one-time hardware sales. Depending on the customer and application, potential revenue sources may include:
Hardware and connected-device sales;
Software and platform subscriptions;
Monthly monitoring and aging-in-place services;
System integration and implementation fees;
Residential service packages;
Hospital and institutional licensing;
Data and workflow-management services; and
Long-term technology and distribution partnerships.
Inkwater believes a recurring-service model could align the interests of technology providers, monitoring companies, telecommunications operators, healthcare institutions and senior-care organizations while providing families with a more accessible and coordinated method of supporting older adults.
